It is not Necessary for Everyone to Study Hindi – RSS Vidya Bharati
Study of Hindi language is not necessary for students during school education. Ravindra Kanhare, the national president of Vidya Bharati, the educational wing of RSS.
The educational wing of RSS namely Vidya Bharati recently made it clear that, it’s not necessary for students to study Hindi language. Vidya Bharati, the educational wing of RSS has recently host their annual press conference at Constitution Club at New Delhi.
Shri Ravindra Kanhare, national president of Vidya Bharati addressing the press conference on 20th June has clearly mentioned regarding the opinion that, education should be in mother tongue. He said that, the same thing is mentioned in the 1968 policy (on education) and also proposed in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
It has been said that children should read their language. Along with this, they should learn one national language and any foreign language in order to develop better communication skills in the future. Kanhare said, “If someone is from Tamil Nadu, they can learn Tamil or one from Kerala can learn Malayalam. It is not necessary for them to learn Hindi. The NEP draft had been sent to all states”.
Ravindra Kanhare also focuses on the rising school fees in private schools in metropolitan cities. This issue is something that the Government should regulate but in contrast to it, Kanhare came off with an idea that is not feasible in a larger scale. On this issue he said that, “if parents create pressure, fees can be re-determined. Parents must judge whether their children are getting quality education to justify the fees they pay”.
Kanhare also added that, “To determine the school fee is the job of state governments. In states there is generally a system where if the fees are to be increased, it would be done through a committee under the district magistrate”. But, the practical scenario is completely different in India. State-Specific Fee Regulation Committees are limited to few states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc.
